Here sits a girl, ragged and frail,
In her hands lay her heart broken and pale,
Tears stream from her eyes and down her cheeks,
In the dark she sits and in pain, she weeps.
Here sits a girl, whole and happy,
In her hands lay a baby with a freshly changed nappy,
Tears of joy stream from her eyes and down her cheeks,
Together they sit and with a smile she weeps.
Here sits a girl, old and weathered,
In her hands lay a bowtie, frayed and tethered.
Tears of agony stream from her eyes and down her cheeks,
Staring at her husbands grave, she longingly weeps.
Here sits a girl, beautiful and bright,
In her hands lay daisies, small and white,
Tears of uncertainty stream from her eyes and down her cheeks,
He loves me, he loves me not, she whispers as she weeps.
Here sits a girl, powerful and brave,
In her hands lay the hand of someone she couldn't save,
Tears stream from her eyes and down her cheeks,
With a shattered heart, she softly weeps.
Here sits you, a girl, pure and sweet,
In your hands lay your destiny and all that you seek,
Tears stream from your eyes and down your cheeks,
Know you are not alone, together we all weep.
